Composer & Sound Designer, Rob currently serves as Graduate Coordinator and Faculty for the Sound Design Department at Savannah College of Art & Design. After completing musical studies as an organist at The Oberlin Conservatory, Rob began his career working for California Institute of the Arts as a touring assistant to Morton Subotnick and as a re-recording mixer for the film dept.
Rob has composed electronic music for a multitude of iconic films and designed sound for the first HD interactive research project as a collaborator with SONY and Disney.
From 1988 until 1992 Rob toured in theaters worldwide with the Merce Cunningham Dance Foundation producing innovative sound designs in association with John Cage, creative director of the MCDC.
Rob recorded and produced “RainForest” a CD & historical retrospective of the distinguished composition by David Tudor.
From 1992 until 1999 Rob served as Audio Production Supervisor for the UCLA Dept. of Theater, Film and Television and from 1999 until 2002 as Sound Design Supervisor for the Yale School of Drama.
Rob has acted as an audio consultant/sound design consultant for many arts organizations including: The Getty Museum, California Arts Council, Los Angeles Music Center, 1984 Olympic Arts Festival, Pope John Paul II visit to California, The Japan America Theater, The Geffen Playhouse Theater, South Coast Performing Arts Center, National Public Radio, Young Audiences and the Robert Wood Dance Company, NY.
